Common questions

How can I tell if an Upwork job is a scam?

The clearest signs are a client who asks you to move to Telegram, WhatsApp or email before a contract starts, asks you to pay for anything (training, software, a starter kit or a deposit), or wants a large unpaid test. Payment not verified, no spend and a 0% hire rate make it more likely. Real clients pay you through the platform and never ask you to pay them.

What does a low hire rate mean?

Hire rate is the share of a client's posts that ended with someone hired. A client who has posted several jobs but hires on fewer than a quarter of them often collects proposals without hiring, so your Connects are likely wasted.

Is a post with no pay stated a red flag?

On its own, not always. Together with many roles in one post, "interns and freshers", or pay in exposure, a certificate or commission, it usually means cheap or unpaid work.

Is my job post stored?

No. The check runs in your browser and the text isn't sent to Proponix or saved anywhere.
